Barnton Connections

Maybury Road (between Cammo Meadows and Barnton Junction)

The proposals for this section of the route

  • New two-way cycle track, segregated from pedestrians and vehicles. This would be on the west side of Maybury Road connecting into the new shared use path at Cammo Meadows.
  • New signalised junction at Cammo Gardens. A new set of traffic lights would be added at the junction with Cammo Gardens and Maybury Road to help people cross Maybury Road and Cammo Gardens. Traffic lights will make it safer for vehicles entering and exiting Cammo Gardens at Maybury Road.
  • Changes to vehicle movements – no right turn from Maybury Road into Cammo Gardens. Vehicles travelling from Barnton junction to Cammo Gardens could use Cammo Road instead.

  1. Two-way cycle track separated from vehicles and pedestrians. This connects into the new shared use pavement at Cammo Meadows.
  2. Traffic lights would be added at the junction with Cammo Gardens, with pedestrian crossings on all sides.
  3. Change to vehicle movements – the right turn from Maybury Road into Cammo Gardens would not be permitted.
  4. Access to all driveways would be retained.
