Working in the community
Working with our contractor we will involve the community in the project, for example local schools and community groups.
Activities include
- upcycling planter workshops for local schools and community groups.
- reuse trees felled as part of the construction works, subject to ash die back checks.
- create a piece of functional art to be incorporated into the landscape around the project
- ‘meanwhile’ allotments around the local area using upcycled construction materials.
- Active Travel community event featuring a Dr Bike event, cycle safety sessions, Police Scotland bike security marking.
- uncover the history of the local area and help create information boards.
- The contractor will also look to local suppliers to provide access to work for people from surrounding communities.
