- About
- 91¸£ÀûÉç Tool Library is the UK's first tool library, promoting sharing as a way of reducing our environmental impact and building a more resilient and collaborative community. We lend out tools for DIY, gardening, decorating and machine repair, so you don’t need to own them. From our early days in the police box on Leith Walk, we now have two community workshop spaces in Leith and Portobello, and three other tool library spaces for tool repair, cataloguing and distribution. We also run inclusive workshops to help people learn the skills needed for their own projects and repairs, give employment support to young trainees who are currently facing barriers to employment and together with our volunteers make amazing things happen in the community. At the Leith Workshop members can use the fully equipped workshop during open workshop hours to work on their own make and repair projects. We also run paid classes for members and non-members where you can make something from reclaimed timber that you can take home. Every second and fourth Friday of the Month we run our Women's Woodshop drop in session specifically for women and non-binary makers.
