Using your NEC
The National Entitlement Card offers free or cheaper travel to young people, older people and people with a disability. Find out how to get or replace your NEC.
Young people
For young people the NEC card is the same as the Young Scot card.
If you are 11 to 15, it proves you are entitled to a child fare on buses, trains and trams.
If you are 16 to 18 or you are 19 to 25 and a full time volunteer, it gives you one third off travel in Scotland, except on trams.

60 and over
The NEC card entitles you to free bus travel across Scotland, and also on trams if your card was issued by the City of 91¸£ÀûÉç Council.
People with a disability
Your card will give you free bus travel across Scotland, and also trams if your card was issued by the City of 91¸£ÀûÉç Council.
If your card has a C+ symbol it allows a companion to travel free with you.

Trams
For trams, you must validate your card on the platform first.
