Unpaid parking tickets
If you have received a notice to owner then your vehicle has an unpaid parking ticket. Notice to owners are sent directly to the registered keeper of the vehicle. You can either pay the parking ticket at the full charge amount or formally challenge the ticket following the instructions on the ticket or Notice to Owner.
Notice of acceptance
Should your ticket be cancelled a notice of acceptance will be sent to you. If your challenge is unsuccessful you will be sent a notice of rejection.
If you do not agree with our decision you can appeal to the Transport appeals. A parking adjudicator will make the final decision.
Receipt of a charge certificate
A Charge Certificate is sent out if you have not paid a parking ticket or made an appeal within the timescale stipulated on the Notice to Owner. The amount payable for a charge certificate is the full charge amount plus 50%. You will have 14 days to pay your ticket. If you don’t pay at this stage the Council will instruct sheriff officers to recover the charge. This means that you can no longer submit an appeal to the adjudicator.
